CHARACTER BACKGROUND

Childhood — “Powder”

Powder grew up in the undercity of Zaun alongside her sister Vi, constantly feeling like the weakest member of their group. During a desperate attempt to protect her family, one of her homemade bombs caused a tragic accident, killing her friends and their adoptive father, Vander. In the chaos that followed, Vi left her behind — a moment that would permanently alter Powder’s life.

Life with Silco

Taken in by Silco, Powder was molded by his ruthless worldview and the influence of Shimmer. Over time, her unstable and unpredictable side — “Jinx” — began to surface. Silco offered an intense, unconditional form of acceptance, repeatedly telling her she was “perfect” and that he would never abandon her.

Reunion and Breakdown

When Jinx finally reunited with Vi, she discovered Vi had grown close to the enforcer Caitlyn. Feeling replaced and unable to share Vi’s affection, Jinx spiraled into paranoia and emotional collapse. During a chaotic confrontation where Vi was forced to choose, Jinx accidentally killed Silco.

Becoming “Jinx”

With Silco’s final words — “Don’t cry. You’re perfect.” — Jinx fully embraced her identity. She launched the Super Mega Death Rocket at the Piltover Council, igniting open war between Piltover and Zaun.
